Like Horses? Equestrian expo comes to Sacramento


LARGEST EQUESTRIAN EXPOSITION COMES TO CAL EXPO

SACRAMENTO- Cal Expo will host North America’s largest and most comprehensive equestrian exposition June 13 - 15. This exciting weekend will offer attendees a non-stop immersion into everything imaginable for the horse enthusiast.

Western States Horse Expo will bring together more than 40,000 horsemen from Northern California and around the country. Attendees will find more than 400 exhibits for the horse and ranch featuring the most innovative companies in the equestrian industry.
The Magnificent Seven is back on Friday night at 7 p.m. This event will bring together the top horseman from the U.S. and Canada to compete in a night of reining, cutting, roping and fence work. There will be $25,000 in prize money awarded to the top seven contestants.
Up Close and Personal will offer attendees special question and answer sessions with some of their favorite clinicians in a comfortable, informal environment. Other popular attractions will include Horse Expo University, Equine Dream Art Show and Sale, Young Rider Park, Breed Revelation, Trail Symposium and Book Corral. And the Great American Truck Display will be larger than ever.

Prospective horse buyers will want to hitch up their horse trailers as the Horse Sale returns to the Expo on Sunday. With over 100 head horses available for purchase, attendees can bid on quality performance, ranch and trail horses.

The Western States Horse Expo weekend offers attendees with their horses or mules the chance to win big prizes and bragging rights as The Ultimate Super Horse Challenge, offering a purse totaling over $5,000 in cash and prizes.

Adult admission tickets are $18 per day or $45 for the full weekend. Tickets for children 13 years and under are $5 per day and children under six are admitted free. Magnificent 7 admission tickets are $10. Show hours are 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily.

For more than 160 years, the California State Fair has showcased the best of California. The best will be celebrated once again at the California State Fair July 11 – 27 at Cal Expo. Tickets to the Fair start as low as $10 for adults, $6 for children, $8 for seniors and $29 for a season pass.
